Pregnancy and labor with Oliver

Created by Demi 6 years ago
in 2016 i was stood outside work having a sneaky fag with my work colleagues talking about the glorious period us women are fortunate to get. At this point alarm bells started ringing i hadn't had a period since October it was now creeping into December!!!!! AH PANIC!!!
Its the xmas party in two weeks and im debating my luck, me and charlie wasnt planning on kids just yet. we never used protection so it was a if it happens it happens situation.
seeming as i work in boots i grabbed a preg test end of my shift and went home thinking how ive been. were my boobs sore? how was my smell? i wasn't sure but i knew the preg test would confirm.

Rewind 3 weeks. i had recently fallen out with my bestfriend basically me being a stubborn cow but anywayssss she got back in touch and told me her news that she was expecting a baby. blown away by the news i was over the moon for her.... 6/7 days later is when the i haven't had a period at work chat happened.

charlie was working nights and i couldn't wait till charlie got back i was eager to know. i dont need to explain peeing on the stick but as you can imagine i awaited the results and it shot back pregnant 3+. SHIT. no work party and charlies at work im a crying mess hes not picking up. i called my best friend and we laughed and cried at the same time not knowing weather to be excited or shocked, we always said we would get pregnant together and this wasn't even planned!!
so getting to experience pregnancy with your best friend is a bonus other than the fact she got sickness for 3 months and i got it for the 9!
we had it all the pissing yourself in public to the 5am cramps. my daily 1hr 30mins consisted of chucking into a sandwich bag on a packed tube standing because no one can see a huge bump or baby on board sign apparently.
i did this for 35 weeks everyday. the 7am starts and 9pm finishes plus the commute was not ideal but anything for my baby boy.
telling the family ....
it was xmas so the perfect time to tell everyone our news and we was all so excited!!
skip a few weeks its time to find out the sex .. boy? girl? please be a boy please be a boy ........ BOY!!!! We was buzzing!!! so was baby as he made me chuck up everywhere after! but i didnt care ive got a baby boy!!!! i was completely obsessed the boy wants for nothing. i changed my pram before he was even 20 weeks because i changed my mind. The months flew and the nappy stack and clothes pile got bigger. edging towards my due date and i was finally getting all the last bits done. in two months we managed to get everything for oliver and redecorate the whole house we was more than prepared! ( nappies to the age of one we was ready)

Monday 03 July 2017
Finally decided its time to put the pram up. all the cot, drawers and wardrobe are set up its time to put the pram i so desperately wanted.
we got the silver cross wayfarer in black and i was in love.
everyone told me i was crazy for buying it brand new and nearly costing £1000 but i wanted the absolute best for my boy and would do anything to give him that.

7am charlie wakes up for work and as per i need to vom and pee.
after releasing my bladder and half of my stomach content i said bye to charlie and got back into bed. ive wet myself.. go to toilet change knickers everything's fine.
i repeated thus twice and thought whats wrong with my bladder today, i stood at the top of the stairs and i can only describe it as pouring a jug of water on the floor.
* charlie i think my waters just broke*
bless him he rang me in seconds and ran home!
we did the famous go to hosp get sent home trip but i was fine with that i didnt have no contractions and its only 9am and i live 5 mins away.
back home i sat on a towel bouncing on the ball thinking am i really going into labor? i spoke to soon 1 hour later the pains started.
THIS IS CONTRACTIONS OH MY GOD!
i was moaning so much the neighbor knocked to check i was okay bless her but the language barrier and pain was to much and i was in no mood to be gesturing im about to have a baby. dismissing her i went back to the sofa to moan.
its 12 o'clock and my contractions are immense.. back to the hosp we go.

*wow that was quick your 4cm*
i got taken round to the beautiful birthing suite which was more of a luxe flat!
straight away she filled up the pool and i was standing, leaning, moaning, crouching and saying i cant do this around the room.
half 1 and im in the pool breathing threw these awful pains thinking im going to tear one hole or poo ( and let me tell you i feared pooing more than birth as i had the worst shits and sweetcorn the night prior to much info? sorry )
ill skip the gory part ..........
4:05 WE SEE THE HEAD HE HAS HAIR ( oh i forgot to mention heartburn too!he best have had hair the amount of Rennie i chewed and that itself was like chalk)
sat there with olivers head out and no contractions i was so confused and over whelmed then one last push Oliver shoots to the other side of the pool with my poor effort to cry catch him to the midwife. she laughed and explained her absolutely fine.
4:20 Oliver George Grace entered this world. all that preparing the night before must have been a mothers instinct.
our baby boy is born and to our shock with a knot in hes cord!
and guess whos cutting the cord? daddy of course.
i forgot to mention my amazing birthing partners. charlies mum my dad and charlie. they were all amazing and to be honest as shocked as i was i didnt swear or scream once! i had an awful pregnancy but my labor was the best experience and in the water made it ten times better.
we finally have our baby boy
